Story 14DX/23003L Story from 14DX/23003L activity held during June 2009. Hello DXers I am back home. Left home around 7:00utc destination to new target SOUMEIX#1 isl. on LAKE OF VASSIVIERE. I know very well this area, i activated in past some isl. there (VASSIVIERE, VAUVEIX, SNAKES). I knew I would need 2 hours transport before start on the island from my house. Arrived to lake area approx 8:15 utc, shoot soem pics from sign panel and prepare all equipment. Ready to go with canoo to SOUMEIX#1. need 30 minutes more now and with bad luck i had last time i think about prop of thursday with very good conditions and hoep find same when connect antenna to ICOM706 !!! Arrived on the island approx 8:40 utc nobody on lake or near island erect quickly antenna (A99 because i thought no enough place on island for skypper !! in fact good enough place ... next time i will take both ...) connect to coaxial on 27.555 good signs with plenty of UK and some Polish cq there.... Its 8:50 when give 1st call on 555 qsy 545. 1st in log is 47DX047 Leif with solid 5/9 immediatly a little pile up with 47, 13, 26 and some 14. a bit later due bad QRM i decided to qsy on 27640 time to time i take a look around, some people now arrive some boat pass near me i not look really carrefully.... WX is very nice just few clouds and 26°c. around 12:25 i heard on 640 :"cq 14div from 11ET109... very surprise but happy to log carribean area (had earlier 146 div but very easy via Es.) will be lonely one from this area. pile up back to Europe. Its now approx 13:50 i must go QRT now i give last calls and thanks to all operators still listen me. quickly am ready to leave island ... When i back to mainland i was surprise when see all are nude people also on boat in first thought they have string but when a man turn look to me i see NOT lol. next time i no more need tshirt and short lol.
