Story 14DX/23004L Story from 14DX/23004L activity held during 16th June 2009. Hello DXers, Sunshine this morning, all equipment ready in car and i leave home about 7:00 utc to new target 23004L Soumeix #2, hoping for same conditions as Soumleix#1 few days ago but i know in middle of week many people working. i drove 10 Kms when i have realize i forgot coax cable !!!! Back to home and i lost 30 minutes Arrived on lake area about 8:30 utc, need approx 10 minutes more to be ready and again 20 minutes to land on the island. This one is really surrounded by trees, a real jungle ... i quickly erect A99 as usually just near water and start first call, immediatly i did not feel same conditions as last iwi activation few days ago Anyway conditions is good and report also. Just with French stations is very difficult, i listen low but good cause no and most have many difficult to listen their report. I decide to erect skypper between trees ... after fight skypper VS trees branches i finally arrive to erect on 6 m mast ... i call again but wow SWR is so high !!! i look at antenna and i saw coax connecting is broke, lost many times (approx 1 hour) for nothing, i back on A99 and continue. WX changing temperature drope down and many clouds come from South, i hope for no rain. I logged few more station and time to QRT arrived, shoot some pics before and leave the island. when back cross lake i see Vauveix isl., Masgrangeas isl. next targets.
