Story of 14DX/23009L. Story from 14DX/23009L activity. I planned late to go on the island because prop was not very good and wx was stormy, I listened band from home, conditions up a bit, that decided me to go. It was approx 7:15 when left home with all equipment in car, it was cloudy but no rain. Arrived on lake area i had nice surprise, sun shine and just few clouds. as usually i keep out all equipment from car quickly and inflated the canoo. It was approx 8:55 when was able to give 1st call on 555, island is really surrounded by trees and in middle a small swamps, not found good enough place for skypper ... A99 will be use in middle of branches trees ... conditions are not best, propagation is not so strong and no many people on band ... i know during week most of people work but i work most of weekend ... After hour of activation skye quickly came really bad, storm around, a bit rain i pray for no storm over my head cause would be really dangerous to stay under trees on very small island in middle of water ... and also dangerous to cross the lake under storm. finally storms seems to stay out of lake just around for moment ...thanks god but a next time without rain also :-). Propagation is really up & down, only south spain and italy was all time 9++ but they are not interest by me, listened 2FB500 4/1 on 555 but too low for conatct. I planned to stay on island until 12:30 utc but around 12:00 storms have become to threatening thats why i leave island but i will be back on masgranges isl soon.
