Story 161DX/D011 Brunów Island - IWI Story from 161DX/D011 Brunów Island activity held during August 2008. Hi Guys Here is my short Story from Brunow Island for our WWW. My dream is to promote IWI activities. The best way to do this is to go on the air, even for just a couples of QSOs. My idea were to celebrate the first day of 2008 Holidays with another small radio event. This time I had chosen Brunow Island located in my Province, not far away from Boleslawiec. The first day of the activation was a very sunny, over 30° C hot summer Friday. The propagations were terrible, with very strong QSB. Already at home I knew, that it would be difficult to reach 50 stations in log… After arriving on the Island I spend 30 minutes installing the station and creating some shadow on the island. I switched ON the radio - band were very quiet. I spend about 5 hours on Brunow island on Friday – made just 17 QSO's, but it were definitely worth it – It were big fun for me, a new experience, and a good motivation to keep the work on IWI.
