171DX/1 Welcome to the informationpage of 171DX/1 "Svalbard, Spitsbergen Isl" This page is mainly made to offer log-search, and general information. It's again time for another activation by the Shadow DXers! This time the team, consisting of 21DX116 Chris, 21DX139 Patrik and 26DX021 Matt, will show up from another rare DXCC in Europe. Beam north, gents, they will be on Spitsbergen (IOTA EU-026). Chris, Patrik and Matt will arrive in Longyearbyen (where polar bears roam the streets!) midday July 5th and hope to be able to setup equipment in the afternoon hours. Operation will continue over the weekend and the team will leave Svalbard on Monday morning. At this time of the year Svalbard has 24 hour daylight, but the propagation is expected to be very unpredictable and the band can open in any direction at any time.
