Story 1DX/LE042 Story from 1DX/LE042 activity held during July 2005. Hello DXers After the 3rd attempt, I was finally able to activate Sta.Caterina isl. LE042 Valid for the Italian Islands Award. This activation hasn't been easy, because I don't have a boat to move around. So I must thank a lot to my friend Sergio for his big help, as he is a local fisherman who owns a boat and brought me to the island. Propagation was really poor. Sporadic openings only to Spain and the Balearic islands, with lots of QSB, very few operators in frequency and only 55 progessives given from 0815utc to 1230utc. Too much work for only a few progressives given. This expedition gave me also the opportunity to test the new "Bamby11 (II) Francesco's vers. '05" with optimal results, despite the poor conditions on the band. With this activation I could say I have concluded my island tour 2005.
