Story from 21DX/AI activity.During my last visit in Sweden I started thinking to go to the northern part of Scandinavia. Selection was to go to Nordkapp – end of Europe. Together with my daughter I started trip on July, 16th from Gdynia to Karlskrona with plan to be active from Hasto island EU N/V. Karlskrona harbor was achieved after 10 hours on the Baltic Sea and big surprise after turning radio on- very good propagation. Within 1,5 hours over 80 stations logged – with big difficulties from GIR Italian station- a lot of QRM on the same QRG. I tried to be active on 585 due this reason too. Around 19:00 GMT we started trip to my family – little below 300kms in Sweden. Very good roads condition and safely we achieved Atvidaberg city before midnight. Next day- Sunday I took decision to go once again to Vastervik city to activate Lucerna and Granso islands- both EU N/V ,propagation very bad, after 3 hours spent on both islands I took decision to go to home. As always Darran was on place- we exchange a lot of mails- he was really member of my team, As always during my activation I have got strong support from his side- thanks a lot my friend. Next day we have to start at 4:00GMT trip to Norway.. Monday 18th of July: Weather not so bad- lack of rain is the best news for me as the driver. 1st break as always was organized on Aspo and C008- Ostra Marson islands. Of course was not quickest way to the North but islands are top priority. The same story as previous day- single stations in the log. Around 20:00 GMT we achieved Pitea city- after 830kms we stayed overnight in very good hostel – recommended by me to other tourists. Next day the same story- at 5:00 start to last jump – 1065kms to the Nordkapp. By the way break was organized on Kolorisaari island –iwi in Finnland. And the same story with propa, but our good known friend 21GB067 Gerd was logged together with Finnish station from Lappland. Our final destination was achieved around 20:00 GMT. 30 minutes before midnight we started 30kms trip to the end of Europe- it was unforgettable event for all of us. Lack of sunset – sunny whole day – great event. To get access to the end of the Europe is necessary to pay for tickets but good news – access possible within 48 hours. Thanks to this we visited this unique place once again before noon – as always I started EU44 Mageroya activation. Very bad propa – nothing new for me , local stations, visitors in campers. We stayed 3 hours and started back trip via Kvaloy island. After staying 1,5 hours only few stations in my log-time to go back trip via Finnland to Sweden. After 18 hours of driving- with short 2 hours break in Stockholm at 23:00GMT Atvidaberg city was safely achieved. last night I tried to sleep little inside my car- you can imagine- it was not so comfortable , but we were under time pressure. Short summarizing of Northern trip- during 5 days we did over 5000kms driving in average 14 hours daily- it was little difficult, personally I was little tired and after short break on Saturday, we started especially much earlier on Sunday back trip to Poland. I planned to be active from 5 EU N/V, but in the final due the reason of not good propagation and activated week earlier by me the second visit to Hasto isl.was cancelled. I started with Dragso isl, after 1 hour I changed location to Salto isl. The same story- small number of logged stations. Next hour and time to go to Trosso isl. Similar result an decision to go direct to the Karlskrona harbour to start as early as possible activation of Verko island. On the final few station logged and great time in Scandinavia is finished. Thank you very much to all logged and not logged stations for their patience.
