Story 47DX/JY006
Story from 47DX/JY006 activity. On 02.09.2011 morning, I drove from home early to catch the ferry to Endelave. To get to Endelave must sail by ferry, a trip that takes one hour. When I arrived at Endelave I had little time left before I could get the hut I had rented. The time I used to see me around and take some photos. After I got the key to the hut, I immediately started putting up the antenna and make the gear ready. Meanwhile, I had the radio running in the car with mobile antenna and could hear signals from 153 div. and 91 div. Within one hour I was ready to go on air ,and to my great disappointment, I could note that the band at that time was almost dead. Too bad. First call was at 13:00 UTC with only a few signals from Sud Europe and it was mainly stations from the 47 div. that came in the log on the first day. On the second day conditions were not much better, all day, there were only sporadic openings with the best in the evening, where 4 div. and 12 div. came in the log. After another night in a somewhat uncomftable bed, I hoped that there were better conditions early in the morning. But no, same story again, until around midday when the signals were more stable. At approximately 10:45 UTC on sunday, after 48 hour activity, I did last call from 47DX/JY006, it was time to pack down the station to catch the ferry home. Thanks to everyone who listened to me and congratulations to everyone who came into the log. Thanks also to Mrs. Margith on Endelave camp, which allowed me to put the antenna up and do the activation. Best Wishes 47DX054 Leif return |
