Story 47DX/SJ009 Story from 47DX/SJ009 Sprogų. Hello DXers Sprogų (Sprog island) is a very central island in Denmark. About 15 years ago we got a new Freeway, connecting East Denmark to West Denmark via 2 bridges named Great Belt Bridge: - From Sealand to Sprogų, the East bridge - From Fyn to Sprogų, the West bridge I often cross Denmark, and I often have dreamed about activating this little island in the central part of Denmark. Several times I have asked for permission, and every time I have been declined. Now there was only one way to activate the island: By beeing a true Pirate :-) On September 10th I had a business meeting in Jutland. I brought the gear with me and stopped - on my way home from Jutland - at Fyn island East coast to place the DV27 L antenna (2,7 meters long) at the roof of the car. Testing: SWR was fine, but there were no propagation... I slowly passed the West bridge, and at the same giving many CQ's at 555, but I heard nothing but ZZzzzzzzzz Finally I stopped at Sprogų, and soon after got in contact with 47OD054 Leif - via ground wave. Still no propagation. Soon after, I was contacted by 47DX019 Henrik (now two in log!!!!) also via ground wave. After 20 minutes the bridge management ("police") came and I was (in a not very kind way) told to leave the island emmidiately. To avoid a fine I left the island, - after 20 minutes of activity and 2 stations in log. I am glad I finally succeeded, but sorry there were no propagation. I will soon try again, and if lucky the Police will not chase me away after only 20 minutes. Listen for me..... "47DX/SJ009" Vy 73's Soren 47DX002 return
