13DX/ST004 - INVALID ![]() Welcome to the information page of 13DX/ST004. At 03/07/2010 5 operators activated 13DX/ST004 Planera Schleusse island – we thought :-) The Story: We all met in the morning, next to the bridge to Planera Schleusse island. While there, we met a guy from the “Water and River Navigation Department”, and he told us that the island we were going to access was privately owned and we could not stay there – BUT the island next to “main” island offered public access and we could stay there. We asked him several times: Are there two islands? And he repplied YES – One island in front of us and the next island is also an island. The next island has water all around, to let fish pass the water fall/sluiss. Both islands are called “Planere Schleusse island”, he said. A quick check showed us also a staircase for fish, so all was fine (we thought), and we did activate “island #2”. During a 2nd internal validity check we have now noticed, that a small part of the river is led via an underground pipe. This pipe was manmade to control the water stream and at the same time the island was connected to the mainland via a small road over the pipe. Conclussion: The island is no longer an island, even though there is water all around, because for a few meters, the water is lead via a pipe and not as a river in open terrain. Conclusion: DXRC has therefore decided to call the activation INVALID. Confirmations/QSL-cards: QSL-cards confirming contact with 13DX/ST004 are not valid for island confirmation. QSL-cards are still valid for confirming 13Div Germany. A new chance: DXRC (13DX056 Uli and some more operators) will activate the CORRECT island during this years Island Festival.
