Story 347/19DX012
Story from 347/19DX012 activity. After a long cold dark winter i decided to charge myself up with a holiday to warm place in the world. I choose for 347 division. And had the luxury to stay at a radiofrends his QTH. Took a Moxon from HPSD with me and direct after the arrival I installed the antenna in the tower and run the station as 347/19DX012. In the “lost hours” from my holiday I made DX. And worked a lot of stations worldwide. Pile ups to Europe were great ! I can say that the most stations where operate professional. First listening and then call. Most of the times when EU was in 1, 14,18, 30 division came in first. When the band opened more 26, 29, 68, 108, 163, 13, 19, 47 came in more and more. East Europe did come in not so fast and Scandanavia was a bit difficult. During a pile up I experience to log the strongest stations first. And have to learn to be fast with logging. Sometimes it was pretty difficult to find a clean frequency because Spanish talking stations where qsoing everywhere or start a qso on the frequency where I was active. So the best way is to make a QSY and not fighting for the frequency. Here some info that I always thought about before going to 347 division. How closer you are with a DX station to the equator how better the DX. Well I experienced also radioblackouts like in Europe. So it`s on 347 div not 24/7 a open band. The band opened normally from 7:00 AM to 22:00 PM local time. (11 AM to 2 AM UTC time) Started with propogation to the east, midday the continent America and evening Pacific. Of course depending daily the band was not always open. One of the problems some evenings there where when the darkness felt in the local powerlines start to make a S7 QRM heading to pacific so I missed some DX to there. After all I enjoyed a nice holiday on 347 division with beautiful white beaches and clear water to dive in. Temparatures around 30 degrees Celsius in the shadow (86 Fahrenheit) at day and kindfull local people. Total qso`s: 671 DXCCworked: 1,2,3,4,5,9,10,11,13,14,15,16,18,19,20,21,22,23,26,29,30,31,32,34,35,36,41,43,44,47,49,56,90,91, 108,101,122,127,158,136,161,163,165,172,178,196,201,285,233,327,328,347. Special thanks: Delta X-ray radio club for the background support. 19MEX001 Vince for the technical support. 19SD348 Henry for the Moxon antenna. 347KP684 Bart for the great station. And all the stations for the kindfull words and patience during the activation.
