Story Enoe Island (1) Our IOTA-activation from Enoe Island, was the first activation from Delta-Xray Radio Club and we are proud to let you know that it also was for the first time Enoe Island was activated on 11-meter. The plan was to start the 31.01.2002 at 16:00 GMT but "of course" there were some problem. Tom 47DX052 had to be some extra hours at the work - so we arrived to the house on Enoe Island around 18:00 GMT - but we did not have the key to the house... Around 19:00 GMT we finally got the keys and the radio and antenna was ready 1 hour later. We only got 1 contact that day. Day 2, we made 249 QSO's. The propagation was good, and only small problems with the equipment: John 47DX101 had to fix the antennarotator and after he done that, he spend 5 minutes of tunning the amplifier (Ameritron 811AL) and it all went well: he "only" blow up one of the tubes - so the power was now 300W :-) Day 3, we made 190 QSO’s and the propagation was okay - we had some problems with TVI inside the house - just look at the photo - and now we know how some of our home neighbours experience the 11-meter hobby :-) Day 4, the last day, we made 174 QSO’s. We finish at 17:11 GMT and then began to clean the house and pack our equipment. We left the house around 20:00 GMT. We would like to say many thanks to our familys for the support and for the nice food they provided us with. The Team had some very nice days, and we will for shure be on the air from another Island later this year. The total results from our trip to Enoe Island was 614 QSO’s into the following DXCC’s: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, 32, 34, 35, 37, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49, 50, 56, 67, 69, 72, 91, 93, 104, 108, 116, 143, 144, 161, 166, 172, 173, 315.
